Need more info on the creature Qurin?

I am looking for more info on an ancient Chinese mythical creature called a "qurin". It looks like a lion/dog with a dragon's head. I did an online search and found only one picture but no info. I want to know more about it cuz I think that's why my necklace charm is, and only found the name recently by playing Emperor:ROTMK game.

I think you mean a Kirin or a Ch'ilin.

Considered a unicorn, though very different from the european unicorns, this Oriental creature had the head of a Dragon, the tail of an ox, and a stag's body (though frequently depicted closer to a lion-dog). It's skin was red, yellow, blue, white and black. These colors symbolized the Ch'ilin's magickal connection with the give elements: fire, water, wood, metal and earth. They said this creatures was no larger than a goat, but was fierce and had great strength. When it made a noise, it sounded like bells.

The Chinese, unlike Western Europeans, considered it to be the noblest of creatures and did not hunt it. As a later emblem of high birth and good character, it became a symbol of high-ranking army officers.

Unlike the Wester unicorn, while the written description is pretty consistent, artistic portayls vary. Sometimes it's depicted as a one-horned creature with a lion-like body and legs, no hooves, a single horn, and a feathery, flame-like mane around it's head. Sometimes it has two horns. In the Ch'ing Dynasty in China it was often shown with two branching horns and an elaborate beard, much like a dragon, and featherlike scales covering it's body.

I've got a lot more on this creature, if you're interested. They represent dignity, good character, fierceness in defense of good, and great spiritual strength, or alternatively, one who likes to predict doom and gloom about the plans or hopes of others.
