Do BMX type trick bicycles that will go backwards while pedaling backwards coast while going forward?

Or do the pedals keep turning as if they are in direct drive with the rear sprocket? Or is there some kind of clutch mechanism that allows rear direction pedaling and forward direction pedaling and/or coasting?

well idk what you saw, but there are diffrent types of rear hubs you can get, the basic hub( the gear on ur back tire) when your going fakie u have to pedal backwards as you go backwards, or theres another hub called a freecoaster and that disengauges the gear allowing you to coast freely backwards but as soon as you pedal forwards again it engagouges, my spellings bad im on my way out the door and just saw your question so hope it helps bye
